COLLEGE STATION, Texas: Seattle Seahawks receivers coach Nolan Cromwell was hired as Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator Saturday.
Cromwell will join the Aggies and new coach Mike Sherman after the Seahawks season ends. Seattle played Washington in an NFC wild-card game Saturday.
“I have known Nolan Cromwell since I first went to Green Bay,” said Sherman, former head coach of the Packers. “He has always impressed me as a great teacher and passionate coach.”
Cromwell made the Pro Bowl four times in 11 seasons as a defensive back with the Los Angeles Rams. He’s been to the Super Bowl once as a player and three times as an assistant coach — with Green Bay in 1996 and ’97 and Seattle in 2005.
After six seasons as special teams coach in Green Bay, he became the Packers’ receivers coach in 1998. He has been Mike Holmgren’s receivers coach in Seattle since 1999, and he served with Sherman under Holmgren in Green Bay.
