The Namesake: Jhumpa Lahiri and Mira Nair

One of my favorite books I’ve ever read was The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.  I liked it so much, I read it three times AND bought the books-on-tape version too.  Her use of language is intriguing, because she uses so few adjectives.

The movie adaptation to the book has recently gone to DVD.  I haven’t seen it yet, but plan to in the near future.

Here is a video conversation between Lahiri and director Mira Nair.

This book would make an excellent Christmas gift.
